ANTI:DOTE presents Pause & Presence: Afternoon Tea through Indonesian Art

ANTI:DOTE invites guests to pause, reflect and reconnect with Pause & Presence, an immersive afternoon tea experience presented in collaboration with Singapore’s leading gallery, Ode to Art, and Indonesian contemporary artist, Acong.

Running from 1 February to 31 March 2026, the collaboration transforms ANTI:DOTE into a living gallery, where art is not merely displayed, but felt. Much like the ritual of afternoon tea itself, Acong’s works explore fleeting moments of introspection and quietude. His evocative figurative compositions, set within ANTI:DOTE Lounge, creates a visual dialogue with the Lounge’s plush surroundings.

Inspired by Acong’s artistry and Indonesian heritage, the culinary team has crafted a thoughtful menu of sweet and savoury creations influenced by Indonesian flavours. Each element is designed as a tribute to the artist’s contemplative style, layered, expressive and deeply sensorial, inviting guests to savour slowly and deliberately.

The experience is further elevated by selected artworks installed throughout ANTI:DOTE, blurring the boundaries between gallery and gathering space. Guests are encouraged to linger, observe and immerse themselves in an environment where art, flavour and ritual coexist in harmony.

Acong, born in East Java and trained at the Indonesian Institute of the Arts, Yogyakarta, is celebrated for his quiet intensity and painterly sophistication. His works have been exhibited internationally and are held in private collections across Southeast Asia, making this collaboration a rare opportunity to experience his practice in an intimate setting.

Pause & Presence is more than afternoon tea. It is an invitation to slow down, savour the moment, and experience art through taste, atmosphere and time.
