We are delighted to share that RC Hotels — the legal entity for Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford — have been recognised as a Champion of Good under the Company of Good Recognition System for 2024–25, a national programme championed by the National Volunteer and Philanthropy Centre (NVPC).
Left to Right: Mr William J Haandrikman, Managing Director of Fairmont Singapore & Swissôtel The Stamford; Mr Ong Ye Kung, Minister for Health; and Mr Seah Chin Siong, NVPC Chairman.
The Champion of Good recognition is the highest tier under the Company of Good Recognition System, a national initiative by the NVPC. It is awarded to organisations that demonstrate sustained leadership in implanting purpose across their operations. For example, from how they support their people and engage communities, to how they govern responsibly and steward environmental and economic resources.
This recognition reflects a sustained, organisation-wide commitment to purposeful business practices and to contributing positively to Singapore’s broader social and sustainability ambitions.
For our guests, this recognition reflects our belief that meaningful hospitality goes beyond the stay itself. It assures that the experiences you enjoy at Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford are shaped by thoughtful, responsible choices — from how we care for our people and engage with our community, to how we manage resources sustainably.
Being recognised as a Champion of Good reinforces our promise to deliver exceptional hospitality while contributing positively to the world around us.
At Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford, we believe that hospitality is about more than exceptional service. It is about caring for our people, our communities, and the environment we operate in.
Through sustainable practices across operations and partnerships with like-minded organisations, we continue to champion purpose in ways that matter most to our stakeholders and the communities we serve. For example, in both 2024 and 2025 respectively, our colleagues volunteered with the Waterways Watch Society (WWS) in waterways clean-up initiatives, contributing their time and effort to help protect local ecosystems.

In 2024 and 2025, we partnered with Ambulance Wish Singapore through Wish Upon a Christmas, a festive initiative raising awareness of the meaningful act of wish-granting for terminally ill patients.
In 2024, teddy bears were made available via Fairmont at Home, with 400 bears used to decorate the Fairmont’s Christmas tree. All proceeds were donated to support AWS’s wish-granting work.
The partnership continued in 2025, with 370 teddy bears featured in Fairmont’s Christmas tree display. Limited-edition bears were available for purchase at SGD 38 nett through Fairmont at Home, with proceeds donated directly to Ambulance Wish Singapore to help fulfil final wishes.

At Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford, we believe that inclusive hiring strengthens both our workplace culture and the guest experience.
We have taken deliberate steps to broaden access to hospitality careers by adopting barrier-free recruitment practices that focus on skills and potential rather than background alone. Through long-standing partnerships with less privileged organisations, we create meaningful employment and internship pathways for any eligible candidate regardless of their background. For example, at our on-site aquaponics farm, selected repetitive tasks such as seed germination are carried out by colleagues who used to be students at Pathlight School, Singapore’s first autism-focused school.
Flexibility and lifelong learning are equally central to our approach. By integrating flexible work arrangements across both operational and office-based roles, we support working parents, caregivers, mature workers, and students.
These practices foster a diverse workforce that mirrors the communities we serve. For our guests, this translates into warmer and more empathetic service delivered by teams who feel valued and included.
Our approach to sustainability is guided by internationally recognised frameworks that ensure accountability and transparency. Fairmont Singapore and Swissôtel The Stamford are GSTC-certified, showing alignment with the criteria established by the Global Sustainable Tourism Council for responsible tourism.
The GSTC framework sets rigorous standards across environmental stewardship, social responsibility, cultural respect, and sound governance. Achieving this certification affirms that sustainability at our hotels is not driven by isolated initiatives, but embedded across our operations. From how we manage resources and reduce environmental impact, to how we care for our people, engage local communities, and uphold ethical business practices.
One example is through our in-room conservations which encourage mindful use of water, energy and linens, allowing our guests to take part in reducing environmental impact without compromising comfort.
SwissPro filtered water systems are available in all Fairmont guest rooms, eliminating single-use plastic and reducing approximately 5,000kg of plastic bottles annually.
In our guest rooms, toiletries are made of sustainable materials such as bamboo and wood and changed our shower gels to larger dispensers. Through this, we divert 507,079kg of plastic waste from landfills annually.
GSTC certification provides reassurance that the experiences you enjoy in our hotel are shaped by thoughtful, globally benchmarked practices. This reflects our commitment to delivering hospitality that is both exceptional and responsible, ensuring that the places and communities we are part of continue to thrive for generations to come.
We are committed to continually improving and working closely with our partners and community to drive positive change. Most importantly, we invite you to be part of this sustainable journey. Together, we can show that travel can be both enriching and mindful.
